    Unanswered: jpegs

I have a little database for my magazine collection.
What I would like to do, is have a list box list all of the jpegs in my
"Magazine" Folder on my hard drive.

I don't even know where to start.
Ideally, I would like the list box populated with the files, and have
a command button_Click to open the jpeg.

    Is this:

    1) Possible?
    2) Practical?
    3) Something you can guide me ?

Thank you all for your help.

ahhhh yyyessss, the old photos and access question...

well, there is a way, but it's time consuming

are you up for it ? are you a quiter ?
I'm only willing to help if your in it for the long haul...

    possible; yes
practical; depends on the way it's used
I can but it depends on your experience as to how long it can take
(keep in mind I'm talking hours not years)

    some questions first;
what version of access are you running ? 97-2k-xp ?
is there a record in your db for each photo ?
is a photo suppose to open that represents the record ? say of that mag for instance,
if I send you demos could you figure out the code ?

    hope this helps...

Yes - but will add more weekly

Yes - I have scanned the covers- I want the list in a list box or combo box. Have the user click on the entry and have it open up
I have read up a bit on hyperlinks. Is that a route to go?

Probably, if I couldn't, I have a couple of other boards up my sleeve I could ask !!?

I have the theory down, but I am not yet knowledgable on the actual implementation. I also think this would somehow have to be dynamic, because each user may have this "Magazine Cover" folder in a different spot on their C drive. Also, I would need to be able to add more files, which in turn would appear in the list box.

    hope this helps..
    I hope I haven't bitten off more than you/I can chew !!

    Thanks a lot!!
