    Unanswered: Access 97 Tineouts

    I have an Access 97 database. accessing a table the old way.

    is there anyway to set the odbc timeout to indefinite if data access is the following way?

    Dim dbs as database
    Dim rstTest as recordset

    Set dbs = CurrentDb
    Set rstTest = dbs.OpenRecordset("Select * FROM tblTest", dbopensnapshot)

    You should be able to set the timeout in seconds with the QueryTimeout property of the Database object, you cannot set it to infinite though (max is 32767 resulting in a bit over 9 hours).

    dbs.QueryTimeout = 600

    sets the Timeout to 10 minutes.
