    Unanswered: connect authority

    Hi,
We have DB2 on AIX . I have created a fresh user say X and creating a new database say Y. I want to give the permission to X to connect to Y and also make it a dba user. IN this schema I will be creating tables.

Also a user Z to whom only permission for connect and select from tables under dba schema X.

How can I accomplish this? DO I have to grant authorities etc..

    Reply ASAP.

    Hello,

yes, the way to do it on AIX is ask your System Admin to create two groups on the AIX security level add the group onto DB2 , grant the
related security on the groups, that way any user created on the
AIX security level under either group will have the grant access to
    your DB2 instance.
