    Unanswered: can't access database

    I get the following error when trying to open Database

    Record(s) cannot be read;no read permission
    on 'MSysAccessObjects'

    This is Access 2000

    Any suggestions would be greatly apprecialed.
    I've already tried to compact the database in Access but to no avail..

    Looks like the system tables got corrupted, import all objects into a new database, that should usually fix this.

    Apel,

    Thanks for replying but I don't have this option of importing for some reason. Is there another way of doing this?

    You could try to run a decompile:

    msaccess.exe mydb.mdb /decompile

    be sure to make a backup of the db before trying, this function isn't supported by microsoft (although I never had problems with it)

    import should work

    re: importing objects to new database....

    Create an entirely new access database and then import all the objects (tables, queries, etc) into the new one.

    It should work...
