    Unanswered: "select ... from ... where a *= b" - what does it mean???

    Hi All!

    I've found a such Sybase SQL-query:

    select
    ...
    from
    ...
    where
    a *= b

Is it mistake or it's some operation I don't know?
    Please advise.

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    John.

This is *= is the outer join operation in sybase. i.e. the query will bring back all rows from the first table although some might not join with rows in the second table. You can also have =* which is vice versa of *=.
