    Unanswered: Import DB error

    Hi!

I have a correction to my previously posted query.

When i try to import a database from a dump (exported using 8.1.7), i get this strange error.
"error loading shared libraries:libclntsh.so.8.0: unable to open shared object file: no such file or directory".

    Oracle version : 8.1.7
    Platform used: Linux 7.2

    Install status:
    1. this is a fresh install i did.
    2. applied the compat-glibc patch.
    3. applied glibc path to correct the links in ' '.mk' files.

please help how to get out of this error.

    thanks in advance.

    Cool

Make sure you setup LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib and export it in the shell before running imp command.

    Post the output from:
    $env
    if you still having problems.

    Hope that helps,
