I have a table is `entry` and a field `title`, and a 1 character long index on that field.

What is the most efficient way to retrieve records where `title` start with a non-alpha character?
The index of course is used when selecting records that start with a letter(ala "WHERE title LIKE "a%"), but not when doing the above.

This is my query:
	SELECT * FROM entry
	WHERE title NOT REGEXP "^[a-zA-Z]"
Is there a better way to do this, and utilitize the index I have?

Thank you very much,
