Unanswered: How to move database and trans log files to another physical disk

We have a server that was initially set up with both the translogs and the primary database file residing on the same drive as the OS/SQL install. Obviously this poses several problems and I would like to move the trans log to a separate disk as well as the primary db file. What are some suggested methods in doing so?

Detach the database, move the data and log files to appropriate drives.
Agan attach the database with the new location of the data and log file.

    This method worked for me.

Or take the backup of the database, drop it , create a new database data and log files on new drives, and the restore it with the old backup.

    Thanks.

Will the first method you mentioned (detach/attach) maintain filegroup structure as well?...what if the database files are already spread out over multiple drives?
