We are using DB2 UDB V7.2 at NT.

We need to call stored procedures in triggers to perform some business logic which includes updates. But in UDB, trigger is not allowed to call stored procedures. We therefore try to use UDF instead.

However, the manual states that it is not allowed to issue update/delete/insert in the UDF. To get around this, can I write a UDF in a host language (say C) which calls a subroutine to issue the update/delete/insert SQLs ?

Any help on this is very much appreciated.
