    Unanswered: application oracle on CD

    im really stuck,
    how can i do to make the executable of an oracle application on CD?

    how can i have executable on CD

    my problem is here,i have application forms with oracle/develloper2000 and i want get it on CD for distributite on users without install oracle and develloper2000 in each post ,how can i do?cheers

    don't think so. if you need run From from client side, you have to install Oracle Client. I don't think you run from from a CD.

    for that reason ,the oracle isn't like as VBlanguage who we make the executable of application in disquette or on CD,we must install oracle client for executable .

    It all depends on your setup.

    I setup before 450 clients to use Oracle Forms/Reports application by simply installing Oracle DB and Oracle D2K on separate machines, then mount the Oracle HOME on the clients. Then setup the D2K and Oracle Client on one machine, export the ORACLE registry key, and re-import it on the rest of the clients. Of course that was done with Norton Ghost, so voila.

    That generates a bit traffic to the server, but it is easy to deploy and maintain. You upgrade the D2K server, then re-import the registry key again and - 450 clients are ready to go.

    Also look at Oracle Application Packager - it is doing whatever you need.
