Question Unanswered: Switch off logging for mass inserts ?

Offers DB2 the possibility to switch off the logging ?

At Informix exists the possibility to switch the status of a database to 'no logging'.
Mass inserts run fast, no logs are written.

After inserts the mode of the database can be switched back to mode 'with logging' via starting a backup.

Is there anything simmilar in the DB2 world available ?

Create the table with NOT LOGGED INITIALLY OPTION ...

Then whenever you want to run mass INSERTS, alter the table with ACTIVATE NOT LOGGED INITIALLY ... the updates, deletes, inserts done in the same unit of work as the ALTER TABLE are not logged ....
