I've created an Access Project (adp) which has one main form with several subforms. Each of these subforms has an individual table as its record source.

I have a sql server role which has access to all but one of the subform tables (and hence cannot view the subform). This is the functionality I want and it works fine, except that when I first open the main form with a member of this role the error (error 229)

%ls permission denied on object '%.*ls', database '%.*ls', owner '%.*ls'

pops up (admittedly as it should do).

Try as I might, I can't trap this error on the access side. None of the form events (on open, on error etc.) fire b4 this error is displayed.

SO it looks like I have to trap it server side, but this is my first interaction with SQL server so I haven't a scoobie of how to do it. I tried modifying the system sps dt_validateloginparams and dt_validateloginparams_u but got scared when that didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brian
