    Unanswered: Why won't this work???

    Here is my problem,

I created a report which is generated from a query, for the report to run you click on a button in a form. However I just added a drop down box to the form. What I was hoping was that whatever was chosen in the drop down box would be the criteria for the query and only return those records. But nothing is being returned.

In the criteria of the query I added [forms]![formreports][code]

Does anyone, know why this is not working? The form is open.

    Thank you for you help.

    here ya go

let's say that the name of the form where the combo is located is frm1, and the combo's name is cboTest.

As a result, the criteria in your query should be Forms!frm1!cboTest

Hope this helps! Just make sure that the form isn't closed before the report is opened (the query can't reference a control that has just closed)

Thanks to everyone that helped me out with this. I finally got it to work.

A lot of people in the company use this report but they don't know how to use Access. By creating this form with combo boxes it makes it very simple.

    Thanks
