    Post Unanswered: Multi-User database

I have created a front end and backend to my database with the Backend storing tables only. There are no locks on the forms at the moment. When creating a multi user environment when more than one person tries to log into the front end this message appears. The database has been placed in a state by user 'Admin' on machine ???? that prevents it being opened or lock"

If you haven't already, please check MSDN for help on this problem. Most likely it has been documented.

I assume your database is Access 2000. We are experiencing this problem running an Access 2000 database on NT 4.0 servers. I think the problem is because, as more Users use the database, a system file, possibly the .ldb file, is locked by one of the Users for an inordinate amount of time so you have to wait until the lock is freed.

You just have to keep trying. Eventually you will be able to log in.
