    Question Unanswered: Help, Unrepairable Database???

    I need your help please,
I have a 97 ms access database which is 167 MB, with access
    to 3 users.
As other times a got the message unrecognized database format
but this time there is no way to repair it, I try to use access 2000
but it couldn't too, I try to convert it, to repair it, to compact it
but it can't, they say: 'C:\TRANS.MDB isn't an index in this table
look in the indexes collection of the TableDef
Object to determine the valid index names'

Also when i try to open the database it looks empty without
any tables, forms or querys, and the command buttos
open, design and new are empty too.?

    Is there something to do?

    Thanks A lot

The only time that I have seen anything like that is when the db has user level security activated and I am trying to activate the security file. If that is not what is happening I realy dont think there is much you can do. Sorry

Try repairing/compacting the database with the following utility:

    Last hope

Have you tried importing everything into a new, blank database?

I had an unrepairable database a while ago. There are some more things to try. They didnt help me... But maybe they can help you. Worth a try at least.

    1. Open your database with /Decompile

    2. Get the latest jetengine servicepack from Microsoft. I read something about needing that in order for the latest jetcomp.exe to work properly.

    3. A tool called AccessRecovery 2.2 stated in demo mode that it could save a lot of my data. However it cost 399 dollars to unlock it. But you can run it in demo mode to dee what it can do at least.

Best regards, good luck, I know the feeling...
