    Post Unanswered: Deleting Selected items from colums/cells

    Do you know of a way to Trim or Clean a column in Access where you have something like this; C0489 RI-00009 9803... I would like to trim out the letters/number combos so that after the conversion the only thing remaining would be the 9803...???? Keep in mind that the 9803 may come at the beginning like 9803 RI-00009 C0489 and so forth down the column between the two arrangements.
    Please help.
    Thank you,
    Jason

    Why don't you run an update query on that field and set whatever value you want (9803).

    It may look like:

    UPDATE tableName SET FieldName = "9803"
    WHERE (((InStr([FieldName],"9803"))>0));

    This will get only the records where "9803" is found in any position and replace everything with "9803"

    Regards,

    Dan
