Question Unanswered: Installing multiple instances of 8i on NT server

instructionsI have been trying to find a step-by-step guide on loading multiple instances on the same NT box. Here is my situation:

I have a single dell server, NT 4.0 server loaded, and I want to load my development, test, and production database on the same machine. I also want to load a single Net8 and single developer 6i on the same machine.

Do I need three separate oracle instances in order to not tie up my SGA, etc.? Which would be three separate homes.

    How do I do this? I can't find a step-by-step instruction/guide for doing this?

Any advice would be welcome, you can contact me privately is you wish.

You need separate db instance for each of your databases. You will have one Oracle HOME with one Oracle installation, which will have three database instances. No need for three homes, since all db instance will use only one set of binaries. Not so clear what is your SGA concerns! Can you clarify?

Step-by-step instructions are to start Oracle Database Configuration Assistant and follow the screens. Piece of cake.

    For Developer 6i read

    Hope that helps,
