Unanswered: How to secure the communication b/w db2 client and server?

I am currently researching the ways to secure the communication b/w client and server of DB2.
I am fairly new to DB2 and what I can find relating to this are:

    1. LAN security and db2 client and server are inside secured network
    2. DB2 Client communicate with server via TCP/IP through VPN

    What are the other options?

    Thanks!

I really need some one give me advise on this issue.
Does DB2 provide a way to secure the network traific between client and server?
I know you can set server to encrypt passwords, but how about the contents of a query? Will the query results come back in clear text in the packets?
    Thanks!

AFAIK, DB2 does not provide any sort of data encryption between client and server.

I'd suggest that you implement security outside DB2 to secure the flow of data between client and the server, for example VPN ...
