    Unanswered: Migration from Informix (SAP)

We have to migrate a SAP-Installation from Informix to DB2.
It resides on a RS/6000 H80 with newer SSA-Disks und has 150 GB Data stored in Informix.
    My questions are :
Has this to be done with R3unload / R3load or are there other possibilities ?
How long will the procedure run ?
How much disk-space will be occupied with DB2. More/less than with Informix ?
    Thanks

Read the enclosed PDF-File, it is an interview with Janet Perna (IBM)
    and Karl-Heinz Hess from (SAP).
The furture of IDS in the SAP environment is discussed in this interview.

I would definetely not recommend to perform a migration from IDS to DB2 UDB at the moment.
Informix has several advantages in terms of scalability, performance and ease of administration compared to DB2 Version 7.2x.

This might change in the future (DB2 Version 8.1 is now in BetaPhase but has also no comparable features to Informix
    in certain areas).
It might take additional 2-3 years until a migration from Informix to
    DB2 would be advisable.

    Just my 2 cents....

    HTH.

    Best regards
