    Smile Unanswered: who knows how to configure my.cfg

    I find nothing in www.mysql.com about my.cfg's parameter.
    But i want to configure a mysql db server with my.cfg.
    who knows how to configure my.cfg, or recommend some helps.

    my.cnf or my.ini, look at chapter "4.5.6.4 SHOW VARIABLES" in the manual,

    i have the following under [mysqld] in my.ini:

    set-variable=key_buffer=180M
    set-variable=table_cache=100
    set-variable=sort_buffer=20M
    set-variable=record_buffer=30M

    (512MB machine), note that these are probably far from optimal settings...

    The sort_buffer and record_buffer are per connection, so those settings may be way too high for a multi-user app.
