    Unanswered: format number

    Hi
    I've a column (float) with this number 1256795,234

    I'd like to see in this mode: 1.256.795,23

    Thanks
    Raf

    There are two approaches...you can change your NLS settings (in init.ora or at the session level) or you can to_char the number with a format mask.

    Try this:
    select to_char(1256795.234,'999G999G999D999')
    from dual;

    The G's in the format string becomes . or ,
    depending on your NLS_LANG. And D become
    , og . also depending on your NLS_LANG.
    Or put simply: Most likely G will be , and D . if
    you are in a country which uses . as a decimal
    separation char, or vice versa otherwise.
