    Unanswered: myisamchk help

    Hello,

when i run myisamchk in order to sort the DATA according to the already sorted INDEX, i am supposed to use the -R option...

this is what it says to me:

    C:\mysql\bin>myisamchk -R r:\dalist
The value of the sort key is bigger than max key: 32.

    what does this mean?

You are missing a parameter after -R.

    myisamchk.exe: Can't unlock file (Errcode: 11)
    myisamchk.exe: Can't unlock file (Errcode: 11)
    myisamchk.exe: Can't unlock file (Errcode: 11)
    myisamchk.exe: Can't unlock file (Errcode: 11)
    .
    .
. and it goes on beeping...

now what is this?? the server is shut down and i've got 3.2GB free on the drive, the "dalist" table is ~600MBs ~(300data, 300 index).. any ideas??

STILL UNABLE TO SORT DATA WITH MYISAMCHK...

but i've figured out a workaround...

insert into table2 select * from table1 order by col...

took 31 minutes for 34 million rows
