Unanswered: SQL0290N Table space access is not allowed. SQLSTATE=55039

Hi Guys, I had earlier posted a message but wasn't very clear, so here it is again:
The database is UDB 2.2 running on AIX machine. We had a problem with the load and it failed so we did the same load job but with Terminate option it worked and we logged out of the database. But when we tried connecting to the database it's not doing that and we are getting the following error:
SQL0290N Table space access is not allowed. SQLSTATE=55039

Any suggestion how can we connect??

I guess you're using DB2 UDB V6 or before. You can use the command

    db2 list tablespaces show detail

to check which tablespace is not in normal state. In V6 or previous version, if you use TERMINATE option on the LOAD command, the tablespace will be put into restore pending state.

So, you have 2 choices, one is to restore the tablespace. If you're allowed to remove all the records from the table, you can use the following command to remove all the records and recover the tablespace to normal state

db2 load from /dev/null of del replace into <table name>

    Arrow Database Connection

This is the message in db2diag.log:

    Fri Sep 20 08:04:52 2002
    dbadmin pid(10532) process (db2agent (FRDAIX))
    buffer_pool_services sqlbStartPools Probe:20 Database (FRDAIX)

    Tablespace PCUVT42A_TS (59) is in state x100.
    StartPool is not possible. rc=ffff 8135 ...5

    String Title :NOTE: pid(10532)
Leaving tablespaces offline at database startup requires recoverable logging.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Database Connection

x100 indicates the tablespace is in Recovery Pending State .

I feel the only option you have is to restore the database from a previous backup.
