    Unanswered: Unable to predit this error

    Hi All,

    We have an error log file where we maintain all the errors encountered. In our error log there is an error which we can't understand.

    [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionWrite (send())

    Can any one specify in what context this error will occur. We use JSP, ODBC and SQL Server. Thanxs in advance.

    Do you have lightweight pooling (fiber mode) enabled ?

    Yes we have pooling. But not any specific mode

    Hi,

    We have pooling consept in our jsp files. The database is shared and allowed only to a maximum of 15 connections at a time. We close the statement and record set after fetching the records and the connection is returned to our pool. But I don't think this a fibre mode. I just want to what this error means, its cause and how to solve it.

    Have you looked at the sql server error log ? The message by itself is not enough - it can happen with asp pages when updating/inserting records or returning long queries (but other criteria have to be met as well). ConnectionWrite is what is used to pass the connection handle and sql query string to sql server to execute. Make sure you have the latest sql server and mdac service packs. Double-check to see if you have fiber mode set (for you sql server instance).
