Angry Unanswered: 18278:database log truncated and Compaq Insight Manager

Back in April this year, I installed Compaq's Insight Manager 7 to a brand new WIN2K SP2 server. By default, IM installs it's database on SQL. We use SQL 2000 SP2.

At that time, I received errors in my application log on the SQL server that look like this:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
    Event Category: (6)
    Event ID: 17055
    Date: 9/26/2002
    Time: 1:17:15 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: SQL2000
    Description:
    18278 :
    Database log truncated: Database: INSIGHT_DB_V31.

    Data:

I decided to not pursue this because there were other things to do so I re-formatted the Insight Manager server and deleted the database from SQL.

Now, a week ago, I am revisiting this issue.

I have re-installed Insight Manager 7 SP1 to a brand new WIN2K SP2 server and let IM install it's database to our SQL 2000 server. But again, the following error shows up in the application log of the SQL server:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
    Event Category: (6)
    Event ID: 17055
    Date: 9/26/2002

I sent an e-mail to Compaq Tech Support and they tell me the database appears to be corrupt and I should re-install IM. I doubt this since it's the second time I've seen it right from the start.

I called Compaq and they tell me they have no knowledge of this problem and that it's a SQL issue.

I looked at the post on dBforums that is similar but the Q Article mentioned is not my issue.

Does anyone have any idea what this is all about? How can I get this error to stop being logged? How can I solve this?

Please help. I don't have a lot of SQL experience.
