    Post Unanswered: Access Report conversion(SNP to PDF or any graphics form).

    Hi Guys,

    This is my 1st question to you. As I joined this wonderful forum today.

    I am able to Report Output in SNP(snapshot) in Ms Access 2000. But all users in company have not Snapshot viewer.

    I know, it is free to download, but still my company people will not let user to install/download this software(Because of security purpose). So, I am trying to convert SNP format to PDF or JPG format. how it is possible ???

    I am able to export Report Outout in .rtf, .html etc.(Provided by Ms Access). Is there any exe file available which can convert .snp to .pdf. So, I can use SHELL command in Access, and convert .snp to .pdf.

    Even If I can make .rtf format output readonly through Access, it will work.

    Thanks,

    Vishal.

    You could output the file as a rtf and convert it to pdf if you have the full Acrobat installed. Here is some code for the Word-->PDF conversion:

    It has been my experience that rtf sucks at retaining formatting/graphics.

    What about html output?

    This is also may help:

    This example is a module that prints a file called "c:\windows\desktop\test.pdf"

    It has been built to use Acrobat 3.0 --- you will need to open the module, and select Tools->References and change the location of the acrobat.tlb file.

    The module is intended to be for demonstration purposes only -- that is, it needs error handling to be suitable for production use.

    Code module from the download is listed below:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Option Compare Database
    Option Explicit

    Sub Test()

    Dim AVDoc As Acrobat.CAcroAVDoc
    Dim PDDoc As Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc

    Set AVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
    Dim iNumPages As Integer

    AVDoc.Open "C:\windows\desktop\test.pdf", ""
    Set PDDoc = AVDoc.GetPDDoc
    iNumPages = PDDoc.GetNumPages
    AVDoc.PrintPages 0, iNumPages - 1, 1, True, False

    Set AVDoc = Nothing
    Set PDDoc = Nothing

    End Sub
