we are running IDS 9.21 on HP-UX11.0.
there are loads of ISQL reports which have never given any problems untill about a month ago, when one of them generated the error message:
Error -229. Cannot open or create a tempoarary file.
But the rest of the reports ran fine , untill a few days ago when three more reports generated the same error message.
It sounds like there's no disk space...?
I've checked and changed ownership and permissions of directories where the reports sit, and where their data is output to.
I've tried adding a DBTEMP environment variable in the home directories of the various users. (Apparently IDS does NOT use the DBTEMP variable???)
the manual says that by default /tmp will be used if DBTEMP is not set.
So I deleted all unused files from /tmp.
Try increasing you maximum open files on the Unix OS.
DBTEMP is not used by IDS, Do you have a temporary Dbspace?
What is the value of DBSPACETEMP in your $INFORMIXDIR/etc/$ONCONFIG file?
What are the permissions on /tmp?
Who is the owner of the oninit process?
