    Unanswered: simple access query question

    I want to update a column in my database to add 'SYSTEM' wherever the 'TSR' field is blank. I put
    UPDATE [Test data dirty] SET TSR = SYSTEM
    WHERE TSR is null;

    in the sql query box and ran it. It works, but I get a 'parameters' box that I have to actually type in 'SYSTEM'. Otherwise the fields remain blank. How do I get around that?

    Your SQL should read

    UPDATE [Test data dirty] SET TSR = "SYSTEM"
    WHERE TSR is null;
