Exclamation Unanswered: while loops -> timeout (MS Access & SQL Server 7.0)

Everytime I do a loop with several open and closes (ADO or trough currentdb() in Access) I get timeouts.
Either I get "SQL Timeout expired" or the loop pauses for a minute, and then goes on.
I even tried different lookups in one module - e.g. ADODB.Connections and currentdb() opens and such - still timeouts sometime.

Is there something like a maximum connections setting? (not the one in the Management Console - I've set this on 0)

Does anybody know a solution to this problem?
