Question Unanswered: Connection to SQL Server is lost

    Hi,
I am having a problem with SQL Server connectivity when
the network cable is unplugged while a DB connection is
ON. SQL Server gives me some errors like
    "ConnectionWrite (send()).
    State:01000,Native:10054,Origin:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL
    Server Driver][Shared Memory]"

    &

"General network error. Check your network documentation.
    State:08S01,Native:11,Origin:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server
    Driver][Shared Memory]"

Weird thing is that am not connecting to SQL Server over
the LAN, its right here in the same machine where
    Application is running.

Machine is running Win XP and SQL Server 7.0 SP3

Any help in this matter is highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh!

You probably use odbc to connect and in you odbc entry you don’t have entered “local” (or just a dot). Then it believes that the database is on another server.
