    Unanswered: libmySQL find method

I tryed to use the find method of myvbql to locate records but it is so slow....
Is there another way to find records without a loop (used by the myvbql)?

I think in use a select command to locate the record and get his position in database and after it, position in the recordset, but i have no idea how i can do it...

    anybody can help me?

I am using visual basic, the recordset have 2000 records...
When i try to locate a record near from the end of recordset it takes more than 5 seconds...
The method used by vbmyql is a "loop" in the recordset, and it take a long time...

What cursor and locking are you using ? Why are you doing a find - what is it that you are searching for and how does this integrate with the gui ?

How complicated is the search ? Have you created an index on the column(s) involved ?
