    Unanswered: Timeout expired

    After around 40 seconds, I sometimes get this in Enterprise Mgr (SQL Server 2000):
    [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired

    Where can I set this timeout value?

    This could be your version MDAC. Make sure you are using MDAC2.6, which should install with sql 2k.
    Akso try installing SQL2K SP2. If this doesn't work right click on EM and select Properities and in the Connectiosn tab set the timeout = 0.

    set myconn=server.createobject("adodb.connection")
    myconn.commandtimeout=0 ConnectionString

    If issue is with Query Analyzer
    go to Tools >> Options >> Connections and change the setting there from the default of 15 seconds to 0.

    Hope this helps

    SQL Server 2000 - Enterprise Manager

    A query run through SEM will timeout after 30 seconds and this cannot be changed. Set the timeout (not the connection timeout) to 0 (infinite) and run the query in SQL Query Analyzer.
