    Unanswered: rollback question

where does the rollback info is kept ?
in oracle for example the rollback is kept in a "place" called rollback segment,
where is it be kept on SQL server on what file , on what database ?

I also have question about the TEMP database , how come its' transaction log is getting larger and
larger , I understood that only sorting and other temporary operations are performed on this database
(no transactions) so why TEMP db as transaction log at all.

    10x in advance

Q1 Where [is] rollback info is kept ?
A1 Sql Server transaction logs <=(map to)=> Oracle rollback functionality.

Q2 Where is it be kept on SQL server on what file , on what database?
A2 User database data files and transaction logs may be named and placed as (DB creators or modifiers) specify.

Q3 [Regarding Tempdb] how come its' transaction log is getting larger and larger , I understood that only sorting and other temporary operations are performed on this database (no transactions)
A3 Tempdb is used by many common DBMS functions, many if not all of which may be performed within transactions. Tempdb also may be used directly by application systems (iincluding any use of #temp or ##globaltemp tables).
