    Hiya,

"Failed to initialize NT performance monitor data area
Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere Database Engine Version 6.0.1.1167"

This is not an critical error that would affect the ASA network server in itself. This simply implies that entry points were not established with "perfmon".

ASA 7 and ASA 8 are the only available ASA's certfied on XP.

    Cheers
    Willy

    Unhappy

The program runs like a dog on XP and a champ on ME when runnning data -- anything --

    I am at Source
    currently set to Current Activities
I note a bullet for database that will require
    System DSN
    &
    Log set
Is this where you're pointing me to?

OK -- we're using ASA 6, if I understand you.

Can I bypass the certification and still get it to work as it should?

    Hiya

I haven't noticed any serious problems with regard to ASA 6.0 performance on Windows 2000.

I think the certification for Win 2000 starts from 6.0.3.3114 and 6.0.4.3417 onwards.

The one thing that I've noticed on Windows 2000 though is the UDP broadcast with liveness packets. This dies on non-supported versions of ASA on W2K, which means client connectiosn unexpectedly die.

For your performance problems, you might try out with using cache size at startup and perform some testing.

    For example:
    -n myserver
    -x tcp {myip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx}
    -ch 80m
    -cl 50m
    c:\asademo.db

    Cheers
    Willy
