    Unanswered: sybase backup

Can a sybase backup from a version 11.9.2 server be loaded into a
    12.5 server?

    Hiya Pillai,

Yes, a 11.9.2 database dump can be loaded onto a 12.5 server on the same platform using a 12.5 backup server.

When you online the database, it'll be upgrade to 12.5.

    Cheers

Note that there were some upgrade corruption issues in the 12.5 GA release. Make sure your 12.5 server is up to the latest EBF.
    Thanks,

    Hiya

    Matt is right.

The upgrade corruptions are only if the 11.9.2 database has TEXT/IMAGE columns. Otherwise you can upgrade to GA and then apply the EBF.

Willy, we got hit by it so I thought I'd mention it. No one should be running 12.5 GA anyway!
    Thanks,

    Matt,

I concur. I'am allergic to all GA releases.

    Cheers
