Hi all there.
I have this problem: I want my transactions to have by default a SERIALIZABLE isolation level. When mysql server starts, by default the transaction isolation level is READ COMMITTED. I can change this variable with
SET GLOBAL TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL SERIALIZABLE
from a client logged as a db super user, and the variable changes its value. But when i try to set this variable from the my.ini file, the server does not start
I'm using mysqld-max-nt.exe on Win2000, with InnoDB tables.
The configuration file looks like this
# set basedir to installation path, e.g., c:/mysql
# here goes the path, etc etc
set-variable = innodb_lock_wait_timeout=5
set-variable = net_buffer_length=524288
set-variable = record_buffer=524288
set-variable = record_rnd_buffer=524288
set-variable = join_buffer_size=524288
# this i can't make ir work !
#set-variable = transaction_isolation=SERIALIZABLE
The question is: can i set that variable from my.ini file ? I so, how do i get to do it ?
