Unanswered: Installation problem (Oracle 8.1.7 on Linux Red Hat 6.2)

During the installation (running command runInstaller), the installer screen dies after choosing "Typical" type installation and loading for about 50%. Why it happens and how to solve it?

I am following the instruction of this site to install
    http://jordan.fortwayne.com/oracle/817.html

    I am using Linux 6.2 kernel 2.2.16, X Windows XFree86 4.1.0 (glibc 2.1), JDK 1.1.8, Oracle 8i Release 3 (8.1.7)

I have spent several days to setup another PC to install Linux & Oracle and it dies at the same point. So I think that the download file is corrupted as you said.

I try to download the file from technet.oracle.com and it passes that point now and I can go on for the remaining steps.

Thanks for all your support and suggestion and hope I can finish the whole installation process.
