    Unanswered: Sequence Values

Is there a way to update a sequence value without dropping the sequence and recreating in with a new Start value?

I keep thinking there is, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    Thank's

    Re: Sequence Values

I'm afraid not. This is verbatim from the SQL Reference manual: "To restart the sequence at a different number, you must drop and re-create it."

    Cool

You have to drop it and re-create. No way around it. It isn't so hard after all.

You can also create public synonym for the sequence and create the new one, then drop and re-create the public synonym, if some performance issues stop you from dropping the sequence in the first place.

    Hope that helps,
