Unanswered: Access 2000 and Dbase4 tables

I'm working on a database set up, where i'm linked through to a dbaseIV table. The issue is that they want to have the front end updated into Access, however they also want the old system to still use the files, in case of emergencies. The problem that i have, is that when u run a delete query, it only flags the files for deletion, it doesnt actually remove them. Is there any way of getting access to pack the file and remove them completely?

    Thanks in advance

The only thing that I can think of is that you are having a security problem where your connection to the core database does not allow you to delete. If that is not the problem then I would look into seeing if there is a script that you can run in a macro or code that contains the core database language that will prompt it to delete the files
Sorry could not brain storm anything usefull

You best bet would be to open your old application to PACK dbfs. Or you can open it in MS Access using automation and PACK using automation.

    Just my 2 cents.
