Unanswered: Make Macro to EMail a letter or just print one in MS Word?

    Hi,

I'm wokring on a DB atm, and I have a field for Email address.
However, not everyone has an email address, so I have to use their snail mail address as an alternative.

Anyway, I need to send a letter out on a certain date, via email (if available), or by snail mail if not.

Does anyone know how to do this? Would prefer to encode it within a command button using VB, but have very little knowledge of it myself.

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards

    Use Sendobject

    Try SendObject uitility.

I am not clear with you question. but,
You want something to attach with email.

So, you will have some report, Before sending email, Run that report, and store the output in Word OR snp(Sanpshot grphics) file.

    Send Outputto::

    e.g.

    DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "rpt_ext_ta_hdr_revision3", acFormatSNP, "c:\rpt_TA.snp", False

Then use SENDOBJECT function of Ms Access.

    e.g.

DoCmd.SendObject [objecttype][, objectname][, outputformat][, to][, cc][, bcc][, subject][, messagetext][, editmessage][, templatefile]

    DoCmd.SendObject acSendTable, "Employees", acFormatXLS, _
"Nancy Davolio; Andrew Fuller", "Joan Weber", , _
"Current Spreadsheet of Employees", , False

If it is not working send me email back vs_shah@hotmail.com
(Reason, I am not frequently visit this page)
