    Unanswered: What a (Suspect) Pickle

    Hi,
    Well heres the story....
SQL7 - 1 Database marked suspect. Other OK. Suspect Database files MDF & Log copied to another directory for safe keeping.

Database removed using enterprise mgr. then recreated as blank.

    No backups! Arrghh!

Database files copied back into Data directory. Still marked suspect (of course).

Data very important - what can I try to resolve the problems?

    V grateful for quick help!

    Keef

you can use sp_resetstatus, more info available in Books Online. I would first ensure I have a complete backup of EVERYTHING. Once the status bit is reset I would again make a backup of EVERYTHING.

Yep, tried that, but made no difference. Thanks for taking the time to reply though!

The problem is deeper - but I must try absolutely everything before abandoning the attempt, cos there is not backup!

Have found a program that proports to recover SQL files called MSSQLRecovery 1.1.

    Hope it works!
