Unanswered: db2 'load' complains 'path is not valid'

Hi, does anybody have this problem before,

    my SQL is:
LOAD FROM /clocal/user/bbg/scripts/load/import_cod.txt OF DEL INSERT INTO SCOD

The path to data file import_cod.txt is obviously correct, but the db2 LOAD complains,
"SQL2036N The path for the file or device". if I change 'LOAD' to 'IMPORT' in the sql,
    everything is working fine.

DB20000I The SQL command completed successfully.
SQL3501W The table space(s) in which the table resides will not be placed in
backup pending state since forward recovery is disabled for the database.

SQL3109N The utility is beginning to load data from file
    "/clocal/user/bbg/scripts/load/import_cod.txt".

SQL2036N The path for the file or device
    "/clocal/user/bbg/scripts/load/import_cod.txt" is not valid.

SQL3107W There is at least one warning message in the message file.

Number of rows read = 0
Number of rows skipped = 0
Number of rows loaded = 0
Number of rows rejected = 0
Number of rows deleted = 0
Number of rows committed = 0

    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    BBG

Re: db2 'load' complains 'path is not valid'

I assume the database you are trying to LOAD to is remote ..

IMPORT reads the input file from the local machine(be it client or server) whereas by default, LOAD expects the input file on the server ... So, do
    LOAD CLIENT FROM .....

I apologize if my assumption is wrong ...

    Cheers

Re: db2 'load' complains 'path is not valid'

    Hi, Cheers

    Very appreciate your reply.

I changed to 'load client', it still give me same error message. I used 'ls' to list the path which I copied from the error message, no doubt that the path is correct. Is there any other reason may cause this error?

    Thank you,
    BBG.

Please explain your environment in more detail, where you do the load from, where you do the load to, your OS etc . Somebody here might have an idea ...

    cheers

Hi, Sathyaram, the OS is ibm aix 4.3. the db2 udb is 7.2.5. I do the 'load' at the same unix box with db2 instance. Any idea? Thanks.

After I changed the permission to 755 of the data file and all it's parent directory. Load utility works. Thanks all.
