Unanswered: Saving records in a subform

I am having a problem saving records in a subform.

This is the situation. I have three tables joined together [specimen]->[location]->[determination]. There is referential integrity between all 3 and I can delete and edit records across the tables.

To help enter data I have created a form with 2 subforms to view the data.

My Problem is this. When I enter a new record in the main form, although the new primary key fields update correctly in the subforms when I try to save the records the information is only saved into the [specimen] table and so the referential integrity is broken and I get error messages.

    Can any one help?

I would look at the Parent->Child relationships on your subforms and main form. Both subforms need a relationship to the main form in order to save a record based on the parent ID.

    Thank you.

I managed to rearrange the subforms so that you have to enter a value in to them and that seems to have solved the problem.

    Not neat but it works.
