    Angry Unanswered: registering from a .cab

    Hi:

    I am trying to download & create an object on a html file from a cab file.

    I tested it changing the CODEBASE parameter so as to get the cab file from my local hard disk and it works ok.
    But when i change the CODEBASE so as to get it from a http://....
    it can not download&create the object.

    Here is the html page.Thanks

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    </head>

    <body>

    <p><object id="InetFtp" name="InetFtp"
    classid="clsid:48E59293-9880-11CF-9754-00AA00C00908"
    codebase="http://fhunth.tripod.com/msinet.cab" align="baseline" border="0">
    If you see this text then your browser is not handling the msinet ActiveX properly.
    </object>
    </p>

    <script language =vbscript>

    Dim qSent

    InetFtp.URL = "ftp://ftp.tripod.com"

    </script>

    </body>
    </html>

    Re: registering from a .cab

    Check your Browser security settings. If you are using IE then changing the codebase from local to "http:// etc" may change it to Internet zone and the permissions for downloading unsigned Active X cabs may be blocked.

    Otherwise your code looks OK.
