    Unhappy Unanswered: Referential Integrity

I am in confusion and I need help. I want to Introduce RI in my database design. But past experiences have shown that as the size tables increases, for every inser and delete operation, the performance is getting degraded. Please advise.......

my advice (and please forgive me, i do not want to sound flippant, i am being serious here) is that you need to decide which is more important to you: a very tiny increase in overhead, or bad data

if you have a significant increase in overhead, then it's probably some other reason, not RI

    Question Varchar Usage

Using Varchar instead of Character in Primary key .... Does it have any issues with regard to performance. Any past experiences? Please advise.

    Re: Varchar Usage

If your column values are always the same length, then CHAR type definitely have performance gain over VARCHAR.
