    Unanswered: how to view the syntax used for creation of partition table

    We have a partition table based on month wise. how can I view the syntax used to create this partition table.

    If you have Oracle 9i you can use the dbms_metadata package to extract the table definition. Otherwise there is no easy way.You have to query the dba_tab_partitions to create the syntax. You can use OEM or even third party tools like db artisan which extract the syntax from the data dictionary.

    You can use tools to extract the DDL out of the database or DBMS_METADATA as already posted.
