Unanswered: Recordset on Client's behind Firewall

Can I open a Recordset on Clients behind firewall?

Right now the application works fine on the clients machine but if we leave it idle for 10 minutes and come back, then the recordset.open command is hanging forever. We are using ADUSECLIENT for the recordset.Any help is greatly appriciated.

Are you just asking how do you maintain the connection ? You already have it working behind the firewall, correct ?

    The connection stays open

but it's unable to create a ClientSide cursor and that's the place where it fails. We think that the firewall is closing the port after certain period of time

Even though it will slow you down...open the recordset, read the top N rows, close the recordset, wait for the client to request the next N rows.

It prevents record locking and forced logoff problems.

Well after 10 minutes of idling time behind the firewall the Client is not able to run a single query on the Sql Server

Looks like the firewall is blocking all the ports on the Clients machine.
