Unhappy Unanswered: Can't save changes to import specs

I have a fairly long (40 fields) import spec for a space-delimited text file. The client added some fields to the end of the txt file which they send me so I want to add the spec for the fields to the end of the import specs. Access won't let me. I add the field names, formats starts and lengths, and push Save As and it just reverts back to the original spec.

Same thing if I push OK and when you are in that screen with the vertical lines which you can move around, you can see the data for the new fields at the far right of the file, but you can't even manually put a line over there!

Help please! and thanks so much

What happens when you try to build a new on from scratch? Same thing?

No, I can build new ones. I can even alter the fields that already exist on the one in question. I cannot ADD new fields to the bottom though - they disappear when I click saveas or OK

I'm having the same problem. Every time I try to add fields to the end of an already created import spec, it never saves.

I've searched every where online, and have even tried contacting Microsoft (no reply yet).

    I'll keep you posted.
