    Lightbulb

if youre using redhat machines, i think you can see those logs in /var/log/messages by default...

or you can edit some configuration files in postgres and syslog files...

    ...and where is my db???

Thank you, I didn't know anything about pg_ctl. But now I should know where the directory of the database is. It's anywhere in the network - but which possibilities do I have to find out where it is??

    Thanks boa

Don't know what your network ist but
    search for pg_hba.conf

    Re: ??

    eperich,
with pg_ctl I couldn't get a list of all possible PostgreSQL errors!
I'me using Suse Linux 8.1 and the PostgreSQL is in the directory /var/lib/pgsql.

How can I get a list of all possible errors in PGSql?

    thanks and regards boa
