    Unanswered: Transaction log full

    Hello Guys,

Well, I wanted to delete 60,000 rows from the table with following parameters:
    logfilsiz 10000
    logprimary 20
    logsecond 80

each row is 40 bytes longs, but when I issue the delete I get the transaction log full error. Why? there are no indexes defined on this table except the PK which is integer type.

    Re: Transaction log full

    Hey,

This question was already answered on some previous Thread.
But again, I quote the statements given as reply:

"IMPORT FROM /dev/null of del replace into <table-name>"

    or

"IMPORT FROM <file> of del replace into <table-name>" when <file> is an empty file.

    Hope it helps.

    Fernando

    RI or Trigger

I can not think of any other reason except that your delete maybe executing other things. Example would be FK that cascades or Triggers that do dml.

    HTH,
